I can't vouch for Greg Koukl in particular, but I've used Stand to Reason's
resources from time to time. So this might be worth attending or passing on
to interested parties.

Hey everybody,

There are some changes in the GCF schedule coming up that you'll want to be aware of.

--First we have a new Bible study that will start meeting on October 3rd at my house from 7-8:45 PM on Tuesdays. I'll send out a reminder and directions at the end of this week. The Bible study will be on the Book of Hebrews. If you are interested, RSVP when you get a chance. If you just show up I won't turn you away of course.

--Second we have a new C.S. Lewis group that will be reading the Screwtape Letters chapter by Chapter. That group will start meeting on Saturday Oct. 7th. I've already posted about that so this is a reminder. If you are interested in that RSVP to me also.

--Dead Theologians Society is on hiatus until further notice, but we will almost certainly start it back up in the Spring.

--Since Travis is going to a wedding in California this week the Kierkegaard study will not be meeting this week. This group will meet as normal next week though.

May the Lord richly bless you all this week!

BEACH CAMPING TRIP THIS WEEKEND

Paulo Ribeiro, one of the faculty members with GCF is going camping with his wife this weekend at St. Joseph state park. They plan to hang out on the beach, do some Bible Study, and a little bit of sea kayaking. They are planning on leaving Tallahassee at 3 and arriving at the beach at 6 on Friday the 22nd. They would be coming back on Sunday the 24th, middle of the day.

They wanted to invite whoever wanted to come to join them. They have tents/air mattresses to accomodate 6-8 people. Paulo and his wife are paying for the campsite rental. You would be responsible for gas and food. If you are interested in going e-mail me at jwoodham@gfmse.org and let me know what kind of gear you think you'd need for the trip if you don't have it.

I'll post this on both blogs and send it out over the listserv as well.

Directions to Activities this Week

Hello everybody

This week both the Dead Theologians Society and The Kierkegaard Reading group are meeting. Directions to both follow forthwith:

Dead Theologians Society, Tuesday night, September 12, 7 PM

DTS meets at the home of Dr. Steve & Margo Payne. It's a little bit tricky to find so look at these directions closely. If you have any trouble finding it you may want to call James Knudson, 766-0608 or Dr. Payne's house, 668-9098.

Herein are the promised directions to the home of Steve and Margot Payne. They Paynes live at 1559 Cristobal Dr (MAP). If you look at the map, you can see that the Paynes live off of Meridian Road, not too far behind Lake Ella (the nice looking lake that you can see off of N. Monroe St.).

Here is the simplest way to get there from campus:

--take Tennessee to Monroe St. and turn left (going north)
--follow Monroe to the intersection w/ Tharpe St. and turn right.
--Tharpe dead ends into Meridian. Turn right onto Meridian and take your first left (just past St. Paul's United Methodist on your right) onto DeSoto.
--Follow DeSoto to yielded intersection with Cristobal and turn right
--Follow Cristobal to second left, which is Cristobal Ct. The Paynes house is the one story red brick house on the right side of the intersection, #1559.

We'll look forward to seeing you tommorrow night

Directions to Kierkegaard Reading Group, Wednesday, September 13, 7 PM

The Kierkegaard Reading group meets at Travis Timmons house. The best way to get there from campus is as follows:

--take Tennessee across both Monroe and Magnolia (Tennessee will turn into Mahan)
--Once you are across Magnolia (it is the intersection w/ Jenny's Lunch Box restaurant on the far right side) look for Score Federal Credit Union on your right and then take your first left
onto Spottswood
--Follow Spottswood to the first stop sign and turn right onto Carruthers.
--Carruthers will dead end into Carraway. Turn right
--Travis's house is the fourth house on the left, 1108 Carraway Street, 32308

Friday Night

Just a heads up that Grad Fellowship is having a pizza night this Friday night followed by a jaunt to hear Grad Fellowship's friends the Sarah Mac Band in concert at Ilations, the coffee shop at Four Oaks Church. Now that's a mouthful so I'll lay out all bullet-point style like.

Friday Sept. 8

--6:30 Gathering for Pizza at Momos on Market St. (1410 Market St. #C1). Directions from campus: Take Tennessee East to Monroe and turn left; Follow Monroe to Thomasville Road intersection (forks right); follow Thomasville Road to intersection w/ Market St. and turn left. There will be a series of shops etc. on your right. Momos is right next to Narcissus (a swimwear shop it so happens).

--approx. 9 PM Head to Ilations cafe to hear Sarah Mac Band. Ilations is at 3361 Raymond Diehl Lane. I don't have precise directions yet; I'll get them up tommorrow, but Illations is inside Four Oaks Community Church, which is across, more or less, from Outback Steakhouse.

Call 212-0734 w/ any last minute questions.
