Hello Everyone,

We have a one-day conference coming up on Saturday February 17 from 10AM-3PM. We're calling it our Spring Symposium on Scholarship, and it'll be hosted at St. Peter's Anglican Church. The idea is for people to share the research they are working on with one another. Think of it as a very relaxed interdisciplinary workshop. There will be three or four presenters with large group Q & A after each talk.

Our one confirmed presentation at this point is from Jamie Watson. He's in the philosophy department and will be talking about a paper he's working on called "Johnny Cash's Augustinian Theology of Evil." We should have other presenters confirmed soon.

We'll have coffee & bagels & donuts provided in the morning and a full lunch of Publix subs and salad in the afternoon. There will be a $3 fee to cover expenses.

I will be posting more information on the event as we get closer to it. If you'd like to get in on this event, either as a presenter or just an interested listener & questioner e-mail me at jwoodham@gfmse.org.

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully you all had a wonderful Christmas and happy new year.

Grad Fellowship is getting geared up for the new semester. We’ll have a lot going on! We’ll kick off the full schedule the second week of classes.

But next week we’re kicking off a new weekly get together for coffee at the new local establishment: the Coffee Pub. We’ll be doing it a different night each week of the semester so everybody can get a crack at coming to it, and so that different people can get to know each other. The first coffee pub night will be on Monday night January 8th at 6:30 PM. The Coffee Pub is at the intersection of 5th Ave. & Thomasville Rd. in the Midtown Manor shopping center right across from Whataburger. If you need more specific directions just e-mail or call and you’ll get them.

Welcome back to Tally!!
